There is hardly another city in the world where you will find more green areas than in Vienna.
Parks and gardens enrich the city, encouraging to take long walks, hiking and bike tours or simply to enjoy a relaxing time in the nearby Prater, Vienna Woods and Lobau leisure areas. The same is true for the beaches and river banks of Old Danube, the Danube Island or the Danube Canal.
The City of Vienna aims to maintain and enhance these qualities. Please follow this link and read more about the activities and actions implemented.
With a readership of over 96,000, the British magazine "Business Destinations" is essential reading for the international conference industry. The survey covered not only the magazine's readers, but also the members of the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) and the heads of the travel departments of the "Fortune 500" - America's foremost five hundred companies listed by CNNMoney, the world's largest business website. Although "Business Destinations" will be publishing details of the survey results only in January 2012, one thing has already leaked out: Vienna has been named as Europe's best congress and meeting destination. "This is further confirmation of the excellent work being done by Vienna's providers in the conference industry," commented Christian Mutschlechner, director of the Vienna Tourist Board's Vienna Convention Bureau. "This is because Vienna offers a standard and depth of professionalism that can hardly be found anywhere else, from the city's congress centers to the townhouses and museums used for smaller events, from its hotels to its agents. The city's infrastructure also contributed to the excellent overall impression that has been so highly applauded here."
