What restrictions are in place for travelers entering Austria?

Please note that different regulations apply for different countries when entering Austria. When entering from virus variant areas and countries (listed in Annex 2), special requirements must be met in order to enter. Are events possible right now, and what restrictions are currently in place? 

Since May 19, 2021, meetings in Vienna are possible under certain conditions, with the beginning of July restrictions will be largely lifted. We post regular bulletins with information on the latest guidelines. Additional information (German only) can  be found online at www.sichere-gastfreundschaft.at, which is operated by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Regions and Tourism. 

Where and how can meeting participants get tested in Vienna? 

Vienna offers numerous Covid-19 testing options for visitors and meeting participants. 

What needs to be done if there is a suspected case of Covid-19 involving a participant? 

In the event of a suspected case during or after an event, the health authority responsible must be notified immediately and a report submitted. Our guidelines for meetings explain exactly what to do if a suspected case arises.
