Meeting city
Vienna has established an outstanding reputation as meeting destination and is ranked top every year in the statistics kept by the International Congress & Convention Association.

Centrally located city
This fact is beneficial to all delegates who are able to reach Vienna easily. Direct flight times from any European capital to Vienna do not exceed three hours. There are no restrictions whatsoever for citizens of any country of the world to enter Austria.

International city
Major international organisations such as UNO, UNIDO, IAEA, OPEC and OSCE are based in Vienna. Due to its geographic location, Vienna has optimum links to the new growth markets in Central and Eastern Europe. More than 300 international corporations have set up their Eastern European headquarters in Vienna.

Green city
No other city in the whole of Europe can boast a higher ratio of green space to total area than Vienna. Forests, grassland, parks and gardens cover about half of the city. Environmentally, Vienna is a model city meeting all the relevant criteria applying for instance to water supply and waste water management, waste disposal, clean air management and the city’s overall ecological balance. Science city
Vienna has a long history of excellent scientific and medical research: Semmelweis, Billroth and Landsteiner are all part of this proud history. The traditions of the Vienna Medical School are expressed today in a focus on medical biotechnology centring on vaccinations, anti-infectives, immunology and oncology. In the 1990s, a vibrant life sciences scene began to develop in Vienna alongside the larger international corporations already located in the area. Today, Vienna is becoming one of Europe's most important locations for research in this field.

Safe city
Vienna is one of the safest cities in the world with a low crime rate. The Austrian economy is very dependable which is good news for meeting organisers. Austria's inflation rate is low as is its unemployment rate.
